Accident leaves 4 dead in Rio

Rose to four dead and five injured casualties at the drop of a pedestrian walkway on the Yellow Line , north of Rio de Janeiro , around 9.15 on Tuesday , 28 . The information was confirmed by the concessionaire Lamsa , who manages the expressway . According to the dealership , the accident was caused by a dump truck , which collided with the runway .

It is unclear if the truck semitruck with the bucket raised , or had too high. A sign posted on the catwalk says the maximum height allowed on site is 4.5 meters.

Three of the dead were the driver of a taxi, the driver of a silver Palio ( affected by structure ) and a man who was going to walk the runway at the time the structure was hit by a dump truck , and ended up falling in river separates the two lanes of the Yellow Line . Still no information about the dead room.

The last person rescued a woman who was inside the silver Palio , which was completely crushed by the structure . The woman is conscious and talking to firefighters , immobilized leg. The wounded were being taken to the City Hospital Salgado Filho , in Meier , north

Mayor Eduardo Paes ( PMDB ) said that truck traffic is prohibited on the Yellow Line until 10am . He urged drivers to avoid the Yellow Line and use alternative to exit the west and reaching the area north and the city center as Highway Grajaú - Jacarepagua and Alto da Boa Vista paths .

The Yellow Line remains banned in both directions. There are no plans to reopen the ski .

Other case . On July 24, 2011 , another walkway partially collapsed in the center lane of Avenida Brazil , after a truck carrying a tractor getting stuck in the structure . The accident happened at the time of Bonsucesso and two people were injured .
